September 2008 Meeting

Wow, once again Lydia (our founding member of our guild) has done it once again and taught us how to make needle felted lambs with a new technique that she developed during our summer break. She is always thinking of how do make new items for our dolls. This was so easy that one lady finished her lamb in class.

A few other ladies also did some felting over the summer but with knitting needles. Sample pieces were made first in order to make sure that the items to be felted did felt after the washing and drying process. This is a step that sometimes gets over looked and is critical in making sure that all the hard work that you have done is for not.

Our next class will be on finishing the lambs and talking about the Creative Sewing and Needlecraft Fair.

Etobicoke Fall Fair

The South Etobicoke Doll Artist Guild (SEDAG) recently had a table at their community's Fall Fair.

In spite of a rainy start to the day the event was a tremendous success. Day and evening club members Lise St. Germain, Eileen Ross set up the clubs display dolls, demonstrated a few simple techniques and talked to visitors both young and old about the wonderful world of doll making and the clubs monthly meetings.

The club also has recently set up a group on Yahoo at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SouthEtobicokeDollArtists
